Tim Ferris talks about what it takes to learn to do something. I agree with what he says, in order to learn something, we have to overcome challenges. With him, it was swimming, with me it is fighting. I can't say that I was scared to try and begin fighting but I was indecisive for a long time because of what one man said a long time ago. Well after watching this video, I do feel like the Incredible Hulk, though not about swimming, language, or dancing, but about my senior project.
The way Tim goes into the mechanics of swimming gives me some idea as to how I might create my own TEDtalk for our project. This is something that I was finding difficult to do at first. I want to say that as far as my project goes, I am making some advancement in deciding what it is that I hope to teach, I'm beggining to wonder if maybe I could teach a PE class ( just on technique) so there won't be any injuries and so that students at our school might decide if this is something they too might wish to pursue.
I agree with your discovery and can relate to it with my senior project; music. With your finding of learning to overcome and succeed, i will do the same with my project and hopefully display this concept to others. I am looking forward to your project.
ReplyDeleteSo basically what you want to do is a class? like a MMA class. I think that could be a good thing and a bad thing. In a way I feel like if you were to teach MMA at the school the guys at the dorm might get rowdy and it would end up in an injury yet it could be a good thing for self-defense in a way yet MMA has nothing to do with self-defense. If you can incorporate that, it might be a good idea. Just know you could be liable for injuries.
ReplyDeleteWell I think it's to be more of a cardio Kickboxing thing with some Jiu-Jitsu which is self defense.
